Children’s Book Week November 2025

Celebrate Children’s Book Week with Dav Pilkey’s Dog Man and Friends this fall! Launched in 1919, Children’s Book Week commemorates its 106th anniversary in 2025. It is the longest-running national literacy initiative in the country. Get Caught Reading is a year-round national classroom and library poster campaign featuring role models such as authors, athletes, artists, and community leaders caught reading a favorite book, now in its 25th year.
All week long, enjoy Dav Pilkey themed activity pages and an in-library scavenger hunt.
On Wednesday, November 5th at 10:30 am join us for a special Dav Pikey Storytime. We will be reading ‘Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving and making a silly hide a turkey craft.
Grades pre-k to 5th grade enter into our Children’s Book Week contest to win a Dav Pilkey book! Three ways to enter:
- Have a librarian take your child’s picture while reading at the library.
- Parents, send a picture of your child reading with child’s first name in the subject to our email: slibrary@stillwatercountylibrary.org
- Parents, post a picture of your child reading to Facebook with the caption [Child’s First Name] got caught reading @StillwaterCountyLibrary #ChildrensBookWeek
All images will be posted to social media. Only 1 submission per person allowed. The two submissions with the most Facebook likes will win. All entries will receive a Dog Man Poster, available to pick up anytime at the library. The winners will be announced November 12th.
