A book club for adults, but with a short story because sometimes there isn’t enough time to read an entire book. We will discuss “And of Clay Are We Created,” by Isavel Allende, translated by Margaret Sayers Peden. Inspired by the 1985 tragedy of 13-year-old Omayra Sánchez in Colombia. The story focuses on a reporter, Rolf Carlé, who covers the rescue of a girl named Azucena trapped in a mudslide, ultimately confronting his own traumatic past.
Pre-registration is not required but requested. See below to RSVP.
