A book club for adults, but with a short story because sometimes there isn’t enough time to read an entire book. We’ll be extending the theme of banned books by focusing on Shirley Jackson’s “The Lottery,” which was banned for a variety of reasons, some of which we will discuss. This story, written in 1948, will remind some of “The Hunger Games.” At only 6 pages, it should take no more than 20 minutes to complete it. Come prepared to discuss and possibly have an activity.
