We celebrate Take Your Child to the Library Day, because it fosters a child’s love of reading, develops literacy skills and introduces families to our free resources. Children who visit libraries are more likely to excel in writing and reading. Sitting during Storytimes and following directions during a craft help young children meet important milestones before school. Children can get a library card as early as 10 years old, which encourages independence and confidence.
