Puzzle Library

Our free Puzzle Library is simple. Leave a puzzle then take a puzzle. It is a perfect solution for the puzzles you have finished cluttering your closets, and an easy way to explore new ones.

So why puzzle? Here are three reasons you need a puzzle right now.

Date Night

Step one: Find a vessel; whether a basket, bag, or box. Step two: Go to Stillwater County Library and take a puzzle and put it in the vessel. Step three: Add to the vessel fuzzy socks for two, a beverage (wine usually goes over well), some tasteful snacks, possibly some candles and a movie you have seen way too many times. Step four: Invite your significant other, date, or good friend over for a delightful evening for two.

Family Game Night

This is for parents who have kids they feel like they never see, the parents who only get “good” when they ask how their offsprings day was, and the parents who feel like screens have abducted their family. Game night! First, it’s important to set an achievable goal, whether it’s once a month or week to meet. Put it on the calendar; make it take precedence! Next pick out a puzzle from our continually changing selection. (Coming soon you will be able to select a game!) This next part is important (even for parents), put away your phones, shut off the tv, hide the tablets and gaming devices. Get comfy, put on the yoga pants and pajamas and get your game on. It might be helpful to put on some music the next generation is into and prepare a list of silly questions and topics (google has exhaustive lists of icebreaker questions, but there are also card games that serve this purpose.) Puzzles are wonderful addition to game nights because they are not inherently competitive, and everyone has a common goal. You will rediscover your tween and teens, and hopefully become closer as a family.

Puzzles are good for your brain.

It might seem like a no brainer, but puzzles have a correlation with better brain health. You probably know that puzzles are extremely important for child development, but have you considered your own noggin? Puzzles help us create connections, problem solve, and practice spatial awareness. In turn it may improve memory function. We also use both sides of our brain when doing a puzzle, which makes it a balanced work out. On top of all that, puzzles are a great way to relax and destress. We all could use a little more serotonin, so pick up a puzzle for you and your brain today.
