Sweater Weather Children’s Books

Here are three children’s books that will get you into the sweater weather. All of these books are available at our location or through our partner sharing program.

The Christmas Sweater by Glenn Beck

Adapted from the original bestselling novel, The Christmas Sweater: A Picture Book is the story of a young boy who finds the true meaning of Christmas in the most unlikely of places. Eddie wants a bicycle for Christmas, but his mother knits him a homemade sweater instead. His disappointment is obvious, but a magical journey makes Eddie realize that the sweater is far more than it seems. Ultimately it teaches him that the true meaning of a gift is that it is given with love.

A Sweater for Duncan by Margaret Gay Malone

The little penguin is proud of his fuzzy coat. When his fuzz starts to fall off, he wants a sweater, until he discovers he’s become a grown-up penguin.

Sweater Weather by Matt Phelan

What a perfect autumn day! Papa Bear tells his cubs to bundle up in the cozy sweaters he knitted for them–but that is easier said than done. Award-winning author-artist Matt Phelan has created a hilarious and warmhearted ode to fall, patience, and knitting. Sweater Weather will be adored by fans of Anna Dewdney and Tad Hills.
